The Washington Talking Book & Braille Library, a program of the Washington State Library provides access to reading materials for Washingtonians who are unable to read standard print.
Washington State Archives
The Washington State Archives collections record the actions of government agencies, as well as the fundamental events and history of our families and our communities.
Legacy Washington
Legacy Washington conducts and collects oral history interviews to help tell the stories of important people and events in Washington’s history.

The ALL Foundation of Washington
In fall 2021 the Washington State Heritage Center Trust became the ALL Foundation of Washington (ALL Foundation). The Washington State Heritage Center Trust was established in 2008 as a 501(c)(3) to fund and support Washington State Library, Washington Talking Book & Braille Library (WTBBL), Legacy Washington, and Washington State Archives programs and collections.
The ALL Foundation builds on the work of the trust to promote history, community, and preservation statewide, and serve as the fiduciary of funds raised specifically to support these programs.
The goals of the ALL Foundation include fostering a closer connection between libraries and their communities; enhancing the collection of vital state and government records, oral histories, and biographies; and providing greater access to educational materials that document and share Washington’s history and legacy.

Digital Projects Archivist, Washington State ArchivesThe ALL Foundation facilitated funding to digitize historical scrapbooks created by Washington’s 13th Secretary of State, Ralph Munro. This support allows us to provide online access to these records, which document an elected official’s 20-year career in state government. Creating access to records that give citizens a vital account of their public government is a core mission of State Archives, and ALL Foundation helped us accomplish just that!

Chief HistorianIn its first 15 years, the Legacy Washington oral history program has produced 17 published books, 11 exhibits and 108 profiles of extraordinary Washingtonians—from governors and senators to civil rights leaders and Green Beret medics. We’re also able to engage youth patrons’ minds and creativity through accessible gaming, interactive, accessible programming, and collaborative state-wide events. Support also allows for technology improvements and enhancements for audiobook production, making more accessible books and reading material available for WTBBL patrons and persons with print disabilities nation-wide, helping ensure that all may read.
